ബാലകൃഷ്ണന്‍ വെന്നിക്കല്‍

I feel very much previleged to go through the collection of eight poems under the caption 'Arunachal Memories' written by Mr. Balakrishnan Vennickal and pen a few words by way of introduction. At the outset I would like to mention the fact that the author is distinguished by his innate urge for writing both in Malayalam and English. He is understood to be a great artist in drawing picture, a poet gifted with high imaginative power and a story writer having the background of immense army experience.

ഉത്തരപൂര്‍വ്വ സംസ്ഥാനമായ അരുണാചല്‍പ്രദേശിലെ ഗിരിവര്‍ഗ്ഗകര്‍ഷകരാണ് മൊമ്പകള്‍. അവര്‍ക്കു വിചിത്രങ്ങളായ ആചാരാനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങളുണ്ട്. അംബരചുംബികളായ മലനിരകള്‍, താഴ്വരകള്‍. അവിടെ അവര്‍ സന്തോഷത്തോടെ പണിയെടുത്തു കാലയാപനം ചെയ്യുന്നു. ബാലകൃഷ്ണന്‍റെ ഈ കൃതി വായനക്കാര്‍ക്ക് ഒരു പുതിയ അനുഭവമായിരിക്കും എന്ന കാര്യത്തില്‍ ഒരു സംശയവുമില്ല.
